Every writer's journey will be different but, in some ways, similar. All screenwriters are storytellers. Words come naturally to us. To become master storytellers (screenwriters) like Billy Wilder, we must thoroughly learn the craft. Getting to the point where we want to be as writers is like a journey that takes time. When you write a screenplay, do you ever notice how it develops over time? The process doesn't happen in one draft. Ernest Hemingway once said, "The only kind of writing is rewriting." I couldn’t have said it any better.
As far as writing is concerned, it has been a long journey; I am enjoying every minute of it so far. When you start, it's understandable to want to be famous right away. There is another saying you should become familiar with: "Be careful what you wish for, lest it come true! The origin of this saying is Aesop's Fables, the world's best-known collection of morality tales (circa 260 BC)." To put it simply, don't be in a hurry; it will happen when it's supposed to. As a writer, your journey will be long, but well worth it.
My closing thoughts and advice….
It is inevitable that your stories will mean something different to different people, even when you are a master writer. In light of that, it might resonate with some people, but not with others. Keep moving forward and don't take it personally!
