A Mother's Love by Eddy Sanchez

Though my words may falter, they seek to convey

The sorrow I carry since you went away.

You gave me life, never turning from my plight.

A steadfast supporter through the darkest night.

My mother, the one who saw the best in me,

The one who instilled the belief I could be.

In moments of doubt, you never lost faith.

You were my anchor, my solace, my grace.

You are the greatest gift that God had bestowed upon me.

My mother, my eternal friend, unconditional love that never frayed.

Always present in my joy, my sorrow, my strife,

I love you forever—you were my guiding light.

The Dark Place by Eddy Sanchez

In the chambers of my mind, the voices blare,

Whispering sweet temptations, beckoning despair.

They draw me towards shadows, where darkness weaves,

I struggle to resist, though my heart grieves.

“Today’s the day,” they hiss, “we change our fate,

Rob them blind, for fortune waits—do not hesitate.

Leave no witnesses behind, lest you face the light;

Madness clings to reason in this eternal night.”

Paranoia grips me; I see phantoms dance,

Imagined horrors swirling, ensnared in a trance.

The voices urge me forth, to act without remorse,

Crafting justifications, steering my dark course.

Yet amidst the chaos, a flicker shines bright,

Love, the guiding lantern, piercing through the night.

Still, too often I succumb, lost in their cruel embrace,

Bound to the whispers, I navigate this dark place.
